The lions may grow weak and hungry, but those who seek the LORD lack no good thing.

Psalm 34:10 (NIV)

Today, we’re talking about seeking God! The Bible tells us that those who seek Him will “lack no good thing,” even if our enemy hungers. What’s great about seeking God is that He provides us a pathway aligned to His will. He’ll guide our footsteps and speak to us. He’ll show us where to go, what to buy, tell us what to say, and who to give to.

Speaking of, God doesn’t provide for and bless us only so we can hoard what we receive. He provides and blesses us so that we can provide and bless others. We are the vessels He uses, whether it’s money, clothing, time, skills, etc. God has created you for a purpose, and He blesses you so you can fulfill that purpose! Psalm 41 tells us, “Blessed are those who have regard for the weak; the LORD delivers them in times of trouble. The LORD protects and preserves them–they are counted among the blessed in the land–he does not give them over to the desire of their foes.”

When we provide for and protect the weak among us, God makes promises here to deliver us in times of trouble. He says He’ll protect and preserve us. Psalm 28:7 calls God our “strength and [my] shield.” Can you think of someone who’s weak? Maybe someone who is less fortunate than yourself? Think of ways God can use you to shine His light to them–maybe it’s as simple as lunch or a phone call. Pray and ask what God would use you to do today.

Prayer Starter

Lord, I thank You for being so good. Thank you for protecting me and my family, for allowing me to wake, and for everything You’ve provided for me. I thank You that You supply my needs and wants, and don’t withhold any good thing. Help me Lord to listen to the Holy Spirit as He guides me to give; and give me a heart that wants to give. Make me a cheerful giver. I know that Your Word is true, and all Your promises are Yes and Amen. In Jesus’ name!
